Box_deadline

Working to deadlines is essential for your print and distribution to run to plan, so don't leave things to the very last minute.
Make sure you know your deadlines and then act in time for design, venue approval of your artwork and finally printing.

Working out your deadlines

Generally there are two things driving most Fringe show's print deadlines.

Distribution deadlines. If you are using a company for publicity distribution then they will almost certainly be your earliest deadline.
EAE (Edinburgh Arts & Entertainment) are the largest distribution company with a deadline for print of Friday 3rd July.

Venue deadlines. Most venues will want to approve your artwork prior to you printing and this can take several days.
Venues will also require the delivery of a fixed quota of your print to them by a certain deadline for in-venue publicity.
Details and amounts for venue print quotas for key venues we work with are shown in a table below.

Our Deadlines

Whilst we like to work to the standard lead time of a week we can work to tighter deadlines.
This does depend on us having print space available on suitable leaflet or poster runs.
Our default deadlines which are enforced on our ordering system are as follows:

Artwork Required by Friday midday each week

Print completed for midday of the following Friday (starting Friday 3rd July)

Please contact us if you need a faster turnaround of print as we will probably be able to do this.

Keep us informed

If you are experiencing problems meeting deadlines then it's very important that you keep us informed so we can help you.
If you have any worries or concerns about deadlines then don't hesitate to contact us now to discuss your delivery dates.

We're here to help!

Edinburgh Arts & Entertainment (EAE) have a strict delivery deadline for print in order to effectively distribute publicity material in advance of the start of the Fringe. We therefore have the following deadline for receipt of artwork from shows using EAE:

EAE work to an advance booking system which operates on a first-come-first-served basis. We do not take bookings on behalf of EAE but as their only officially recommended print supplier we do coordinate closely with them. Delivery to EAE is included free as standard for all of our print products.
Further information about EAE publicity distribution products and their online booking form can be found at http://www.eae.co.uk/fringe_introduction.asp

Artwork Approval
Most venues will require that they approve your artwork prior to printing and this can take several days.
In most case venues will reserve the right to have you reprint your publicity material if you print without first obtaining venue approval of your artwork.
You should contact your venue about whether they require artwork approval and if so when they can do this and how long this will take.

Print quota deadlines
Most venues require the delivery of a fixed amount of your print to them by a certain deadline for in-venue publicity.
Missing this deadline will make it difficult for your venue to publicise your show within their venue(s).
Delivery dates and amounts for venue print quotas for key venues we work with are shown in the table below.
Delivery of any print required by your venue is also included free as standard for all of our print products.
We also store the balance of print left after the venue delivery free for subsequent free delivery to your Edinburgh accommodation.
